The White House launched a blistering counterattack on Monday against Senator Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), following his weekend remarks that President Trump is leading the United States into a war with Iran under false pretenses.

Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, took to social media platform X to denounce Ossoff, calling him "the biggest ... loser in politics" and using a crude pun on the senator's surname. Cheung added, "Instead of denigrating hard-working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he's a miserable person who hates this country." He concluded, "It's because he's a radical, extremist Dumocrat," echoing Trump's derogatory nickname for the Democratic Party.

Tupac Murder Trial Opens as Ex-Gang Chief Faces Charges Decades Later
Opening statements are set in the trial of Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, the former gang leader accused of orchestrating Tupac Shakur's 1996 drive-by murder.

The escalation comes after Ossoff, speaking at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Sunday, sharply criticized Trump's management of the economy and the escalating conflict with Iran. The first-term senator accused the president of "lying" the nation into war, calling it "uniquely despicable." He also jabbed at Trump's frequent golf outings and financial interests, asserting that the president "doesn't want to do the job."

Ossoff went further, referencing Trump's travel with executive assistant Natalie Harp on a jet he described as a "defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar." This alludes to reports that Trump, along with Harp, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and aides Walt Nauta and Dan Scavino, flew on a smaller unmarked aircraft from Turkey to England after the NATO summit, after being covertly transferred from Air Force One via a catering truck.

When asked about Ossoff's criticism during an Oval Office event on Monday, Trump quipped, "You mean Pee-wee Herman?"—a reference to the comedic character portrayed by Paul Reubens.

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle also joined the fray, labeling Ossoff a "cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as [former President] Barack Obama." Ingle wrote on X, "Nobody gives a s--- what this lightweight loser says."

Ossoff's campaign has not yet responded to requests for comment. The senator is seeking a second term against Republican Representative Mike Collins, with Decision Desk HQ giving Ossoff a 79% chance of winning reelection. During the rally, Ossoff described Collins as a "crumbling little bigot" whose campaign is "collapsing."

The heated exchange underscores the deepening partisan divide over Trump's foreign policy, particularly regarding Iran. Critics, including veterans who have slammed the administration's handling of troop welfare, have expressed alarm over the president's approach. Meanwhile, Trump's recent actions, such as threatening to bomb Oman as the Iran deal expires, have intensified scrutiny.

As the political battle rages, the White House's personal attacks on Ossoff signal a strategy of dismissing critics as out of touch, while Democrats rally around the senator's pointed accusations. The outcome of this clash may resonate in Georgia's closely watched Senate race and beyond.
