WASHINGTON—The Hill, the top digital-first political news outlet in the country, rolled out a new premium subscription service on Wednesday called The Hill Insider, aimed at giving loyal readers deeper access to the conversations and reporting that shape the nation's capital.

The service, which launches July 8, features two tiers: a Basic membership at $5.99 per month or $59.99 annually, and a Premium tier at $9.99 per month or $99.99 annually. The Premium option includes ad-free browsing on TheHill.com and VIP access to live events. First-time subscribers can try a 14-day free trial.

Michigan Senate Primary Tightens After McMorrow Exit: Poll
A new poll shows the Michigan Democratic Senate race is a dead heat between Rep. Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed after state Sen. Mallory McMorrow exited the contest.

“For more than 30 years, The Hill has delivered trusted, unbiased political news coverage, building a loyal audience that values deeper reporting and in-depth analysis,” said Bill Sammon, senior vice president of Washington editorial content. “We are pleased to offer this community of readers a new exclusive experience with The Hill Insider, giving them greater access to the conversations, insights, and reporting shaping the nation’s capital. As we all know, in Washington, information is power.”

The Hill Insider will include premium newsletters, live interactive video calls with editors and reporters, and daily deep-dive articles that go beyond the headlines. The site’s free, ad-supported news remains fully available to all readers.

“The Hill Insider is designed for readers who want more than the daily news cycle,” said Justin Eli, senior vice president of digital business strategy and product development. “While The Hill’s core news experience will remain free and accessible to millions of readers, The Hill Insider offers exclusive access, deeper insight, and direct engagement with our journalists.”

The launch comes as The Hill continues to dominate political news traffic. According to Comscore, the outlet has ranked first for unique visitors for eight consecutive months, making it the most visited political news site in the country. Rational 360 data shows The Hill is the second most followed influencer of Congress among both Republican and Democratic audiences.

On July 15, The Hill will co-host the second annual Hill Nation Summit with Nexstar’s cable news network, NewsNation. The daylong bipartisan event will feature members of Congress, Cabinet officials, business leaders, and political insiders discussing the economy, healthcare, foreign affairs, immigration, and more.

The premium subscription push comes amid a broader media landscape where outlets are seeking new revenue streams. The Hill’s move mirrors similar strategies by other political news organizations, but its strong traffic numbers and congressional following give it a unique edge. For readers who want to get closer to the policymaking process, the Insider promises a direct line to the journalists covering the latest developments on Iran and other critical issues.

As political polarization deepens—evidenced by a recent survey showing only 27% of Democrats express high national pride—The Hill aims to position its premium offering as a neutral, insider-focused resource. The service also taps into the growing demand for context around stories like the blue-collar displacement crisis and the NAACP's record midterm push.

The ad-free experience on TheHill.com removes display and video advertising, though sponsored content in the mobile app, podcasts, and free newsletters is not included. For political insiders and engaged citizens alike, The Hill Insider offers a new way to navigate the corridors of power.
