President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on Fox News anchor Jacqui Heinrich Sunday, accusing her of letting Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California spread falsehoods without challenge during a recent appearance on her show.

Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform, wrote that while he usually enjoys Fox's programming, the interview with Khanna—a progressive lawmaker who has gained attention for demanding the release of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein—was a disaster. “You could listen to FoxNews all day long, absolutely devour it, but then, when you hear SLEAZEBAGS, like Congressman Ro Khanna, ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing,’ LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE AGAIN, without any pushback, or competent rebuttal from an anchor, in this case, Jacqui Heinrich, the entire Common Sense dialogue that has been going on all day at Fox is completely obliterated!” Trump wrote.

Khanna responded on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, framing the attack as evidence that his strategy of appearing on conservative media is working. “This is why I go on Fox,” he wrote. “This is why I talk about an economic agenda to build steel, ship & battery plants in hollowed out communities. This is why I talk to everyone, including Trump voters, without hurling insults. This is how Democrats will win & unite the country.”

During the interview on “The Sunday Briefing,” Khanna predicted Democrats would retake the House majority in November, citing voter dissatisfaction with rising gas and food prices, the ongoing conflict with Iran, and Trump’s failure to release the Epstein files. “The reason we’re going to win the House is gas prices are up, food prices are up, people don’t like the fact that we’re in a war in Iran. They don’t like the fact that the Trump administration hasn’t released the Epstein files or held the Epstein class accountable,” Khanna told Heinrich.

This is not the first time Trump has targeted Heinrich. Last year, he called her “absolutely terrible” after a previous segment, suggesting she should be working for CNN rather than Fox. “Not surprisingly, I later found out that she’s a fan of the White House Correspondents Association!” he added in a previous Truth Social post.

The president’s latest outburst comes amid broader tensions between the White House and Fox News, a network that has generally been friendly to Trump but occasionally airs interviews with Democratic lawmakers. The Hill reached out to Fox News for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Trump’s criticism of Heinrich also highlights his ongoing obsession with the Epstein case, which he has repeatedly claimed he would address but has not yet released all related files. Khanna has made the issue a central part of his political identity, often clashing with the administration over transparency.

Meanwhile, the interview touched on other hot-button issues, including the Iran conflict, which Khanna argued is hurting Trump politically. The congressman’s willingness to appear on Fox reflects a broader Democratic strategy to reach voters outside their base, even as Trump tries to paint such appearances as disloyal or deceptive.
