Stephanie Grisham, who served as White House press secretary and previously as chief of staff to First Lady Melania Trump, publicly challenged President Trump's account of his knowledge regarding his wife's recent public statement. The former aide admitted uncertainty about the timing of the first lady's decision to address the long-standing rumors. "I don't know why," Grisham said. "Perhaps again, it's a story or she just got an inquiry or she saw something obscure that nobody else did see. And it just made her upset."

Speaking from the White House Grand Foyer, Melania Trump delivered a pointed rebuke to what she called "lies" about her association with Epstein. "The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today," she declared. "The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation."
In her statement, she explicitly denied being a victim of Epstein, denied any connection to Ghislaine Maxwell, and stated that Epstein did not introduce her to her husband.
