Authorities arrested a man Saturday at Trump Doral National Golf Club in Miami after he allegedly became unruly and made physical contact with a Secret Service agent, according to federal officials.

The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. EDT at a security screening area staffed by the Secret Service and local police. The individual “became disruptive and failed to comply with lawful orders” before making “physical contact” with an agent, said Acting Special Agent in Charge Michael Townsend of the Secret Service’s Miami field office in a statement.

Hassett: Iran War Fuel Shock to Hit Airline Earnings for at Least Three Months
White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett acknowledged Sunday that energy shocks from the Iran war will hit airline profits for at least a quarter, but he insisted Spirit Airlines' shutdown was due to its own mismanagement.

President Trump was not at the property at the time of the disturbance. The man was taken into custody, and the Doral Police Department charged him with disorderly conduct and resisting without violence.

“At no point did this situation impact the established security posture for any upcoming visits to Trump Doral National Golf Club by Secret Service protectees,” Townsend emphasized.

The suspect was being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, according to police. No further details were immediately available.

The arrest comes just one week after an armed man rushed past security at a Washington, D.C., press gala that Trump and cabinet members were attending. That suspect, Cole Allen, faces charges of attempting to assassinate the president. The incident has heightened scrutiny around security protocols for high-profile events, especially as a new Pew poll shows 56% of Americans believe federal ethics have declined under Trump’s second term.

Trump Doral, a frequent venue for the president’s golf outings and political events, has seen previous security incidents. The latest disruption underscores ongoing concerns about security at properties linked to the president, even when he is not present. The Secret Service continues to coordinate with local law enforcement to maintain a secure perimeter.

The Doral Police Department is leading the investigation into Saturday’s incident, with assistance from the Secret Service. No additional information about the suspect’s motives or background has been released.
